T-ball

(Tyler (on left) and Ethan)

Ethan has started t-ball for the first time! We had him in soccer for 2 seasons and he did well overall. We gave him the option of playing soccer again this spring or try t-ball, and he chose t-ball. His first 3 practices were cancelled due to rain, but he just had his first this past Friday and he did GREAT! He really excelled out there and his confidence and attitude was awesome. Some of his seasons playing soccer was a real struggle because he would get overwhelmed with so many kids running at him that he would refuse to play. He also didn't understand the concept of "sharing" the ball... meaning, if someone came and took it away from him he would start to get upset. He thought he got the ball all the time and that was just the way it was. So anyhow, t-ball is a great sport because it is more individualized. He can already catch ground balls and he caught a few balls thrown to him in the air with his glove. His hitting has always been great (he's been hitting off a tee since he was 2 years old). It is just so fun to see him play sports and learn and grow. He has awesome coaches. One of them played baseball for UNC and went on to play on an Olympic team for a certain league. The other coach has played baseball or softball for the past 15 years. So they know what they are doing. I'm very proud and as long as Ethan follows our families 2 rules then he will always be successful in our eyes: 1.) Try your best and 2.) Have fun!
